2008 Season Preview

Last year: 0-9 PAC-10, 1-10 overall.
Offense: Wide receivers Corey Egan (Sr., 5-9, 150), Matt Mehallick (Jr., 6-1, 185), Aaron Tarlecki (Jr., 5-10, 177) and Cole Parkinson (Jr., 6-2, 163); tackles Tyler Yaculak (Jr., 6-1, 266), Kevin Pence (Jr., 6-1, 200), Ryan Cremi (Jr., 6-3, 194), and Spencer Stratton (Jr., 6-4, 215); guards Josh Rogers (Jr., 6-1, 201) and Mike Furey (Jr., 5-9, 245); center Matt Raymond (Jr., 5-9, 245); quarterback Dylan Pasik (So., 6-3, 165); and running backs Dante Astheimer (Sr., 5-10, 170) and Matt Galloway (Sr., 5-9, 162).
Defense: Ends Cremi and Stratton; interior linemen Rogers and Matt Kendra (Jr., 6-0, 152); linebackers Tarlecki, Tyler Pollick (Jr., 6-2, 170), and Galloway; cornerbacks Parkinson and Egan; and safeties Conor Myers (So., 5-11, 155) and Astheimer.
Kickers: Punter and placekicker Drew Gray (Jr., 5-9, 160).
Quotable: "We're made up mostly of juniors," said coach Parkinson. "We're a fairly young team. I really like the attitude of the players and I feel good after our first couple of scrimmages. We had some bumps in the road, but that will come with time. The biggest thing I feel good about is the attitude of our players and hard work. With that, we can be successful."
Notes: Winged Lions have just six seniors on their roster. ... Astheimer averaged 5.3 yards per carry last season while rushing for 502 and caught 27 passes for 235.
