Kickers: Morgan is the placekicker and punter.
Quotable: "The big thing for us (in the preseason) was trying to get that chemistry between our linemen." Reed said. "They're working hard, and physically they're OK. But mentally... We expect (Zulli) to have a great season, and we feel Snowden could be a big-play threat for us. I think we're a little more experienced defensively, and our secondary should be very comparable to last year."
Notes: Vikings get two very good tests to open the season when they travel to Upper Dublin and Coatesville. ... Godfrey and Petriello have the ability to line up against anyone in the PAC-10 and will have a lot to do with opening up lanes for Snowden and providing time for Zulli to throw. ... Kevin and Ryan Krasley are twin brothers. ... PV last season became only the second PAC-10 team to qualify for the District 1 playoffs in the Class AAAA bracket.

Defense: End Dave Eggeling (Sr., 5-11, 164); interior linemen Kelly, Cenci and Cress; linebackers Vincent Ciaverelli (Jr., 6-0, 173) Samuel McQuiston (Jr., 5-6, 166), Derek Ryan (Jr., 5-8, 153), Viscuso and Yenchick; cornerbacks Will Killeen (Sr., 6-0, 171) and Nattle; safety Ervin.
Kickers: Punter Killeen and placekicker John McInally (So., 5-10, 170).
Quotable: "I think, overall, we have a lot of young guys starting ... six on offense, four on defense. We like the talent level and work ethic of our younger guys. They're doing well, but it will sort of depend on how fast they overcome the learning curve. We have some better running backs in Nattle and Kelly, but a young quarterback. It will take pressure off him if we can run."
Notes: Kelly returns to the offensive backfield after working at center last year. Furlong related how Kelly, a second-team All-PAC nose guard his junior season, volunteered to play on the line to help alleviate injury issues and see more time on the field.

POTTSGROVE
Head coach: Rick Pennypacker (20th season).
Last year: 7-2 PAC-10; 11-2 overall.

Kickers: Punters Jordan Klinger (Jr., 5-11, 160), Sheppard; and placekicker Klinger.
Quotable: "We're young," said Pennypacker. "We have a lot of young skill kids. The offensive line is inexperienced. We'll go as far as we can with the development of the young kids on the offensive line. Right now, we're not very good. If they develop, we'll be fine. We've got speed all over the field. Everyone knows that. I'm starting a sophomore quarterback. I'm starting a sophomore running back. I'm starting a lot of sophomores. How fast they develop will determine how well we do."
Notes: Chestnut was named first-team all-state last year as a freshman ... Polamalu comes from strong football bloodlines. His cousin, Troy Polamalu, is an All-Pro safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers and his uncle, Kennedy Pola, is the running backs coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

POTTSTOWN
Head coach: Brett Myers, 2nd season.
Last year: 4-5 PAC-10, 5-6 overall.
Offense: Wide receivers Darryn Gulotta (Sr., 5-9, 150) Anthony Lyon (Sr., 5-10, 175) and Lamont Walton (Jr., 5-9, 140); tight end Tymeke Santos (Jr., 6-1, 195); tackles William Carter (Jr., 6-1, 285) and Jacob Slick (Jr., 6-3, 335); guards Nick Maloney (Sr., 6-3, 270) and Evan Bauer (Jr., 6-2, 220); center Andrew Epps (Sr., 6-2, 270); quarterbacks Tony Miller (Jr., 6-1, 170) and Jeff Endy (So., 5-9, 145); fullback Kenny Baker (Sr., 5-10, 175); running backs Brennan Phillips (Sr., 5-10, 160) and Ricardo Gonzalez (Jr., 5-9, 170).

Kickers: Punter Miller and placekicker Amanda Ayer (Sr.).
Quotable: "The kids have been working real hard. We're in the second year of my program, and the goal is to be a better football team. "The expectations are a little different. Last year, the kids were not sure about me, and they were coming off a winless season. Those kids were dying to win a game, while this year's kids are worrying about being a better team."
Notes: Kenny Baker and Nick Maloney bring solid credentials back with them to the Pottstown program. Baker rushed for more than 1,300 yards last year, averaging 9.9 yards per carry and scoring 19 touchdowns. Maloney, in turn, was an all-PAC second team lineman.

SPRING-FORD
Head coach: Gary Rhodenbaugh, 6th season.
Last year: 5-4 PAC-10; 6-6 overall.
Offense: Wide receivers Andy Ellison (Jr., 6-0, 180). Andrew McDonald (So., 5-6. 155) and David McDonald (So., 5-6, 165); Tight ends Mike Horan (Jr., 6-0, 185) and Rich Iannelli (Sr., 6-0, 200); Tackles Jesse Ercole (Sr., 6-1, 210) and Mike Yeakle (Jr., 6-5, 285); Guards Aaron Cummins (Jr., 5-11, 220), Brian Dougherty (Sr., 5-11, 285) and Michael Stephenson (Jr., 5-11, 195); Center Justin Franiak (5-11, 300); Quarterback Trevor Sasek (Sr., 6-6, 195); Fullback Nick Caggiano (Sr., 5-7, 180); Running back David Tyler (Jr., 5-9, 170); and Placekicker Jarred Houck (Sr. 5-6. 145).

Quotable: "We're young in some ways, but we do have some experience in some spots," Rhodenbaugh said. "We feel pretty good about some of the guys up front, like Franiak, our three guards and Ercole at one of the tackles. And we're expecting a strong year from Sasek. He lost three very good receivers (to graduation), so he's going to have to adjust to the younger kids (Ellison and McDonald twins)."
Notes: Sasek, who is approaching a number of school records and could pass by some area marks as well with another big season, is getting a lot of looks from Division I-AA schools. ... Iannelli could develop into one of the PAC-10's top middle linebackers.

ST. PIUS X
Head coach: George Parkinson, 3rd season.
Last year: 0-9 PAC-10, 1-10 overall.
Offense: Wide receivers Corey Egan (Sr., 5-9, 150), Matt Mehallick (Jr., 6-1, 185), Aaron Tarlecki (Jr., 5-10, 177) and Cole Parkinson (Jr., 6-2, 163); tackles Tyler Yaculak (Jr., 6-1, 266), Kevin Pence (Jr., 6-1, 200), Ryan Cremi (Jr., 6-3, 194), and Spencer Stratton (Jr., 6-4, 215); guards Josh Rogers (Jr., 6-1, 201) and Mike Furey (Jr., 5-9, 245); center Matt Raymond (Jr., 5-9, 245); quarterback Dylan Pasik (So., 6-3, 165); and running backs Dante Astheimer (Sr., 5-10, 170) and Matt Galloway (Sr., 5-9, 162).

We had some bumps in the road, but that will come with time. The biggest thing I feel good about is the attitude of our players and hard work. With that, we can be successful."
Notes: Winged Lions have just six seniors on their roster. ... Astheimer averaged 5.3 yards per carry last season while rushing for 502 and caught 27 passes for 235.
